Services
Building Envelope Testing
BEE is AAMA-accredited and offers window water testing, whole building air barrier testing and ELD testing services for commercial and residential projects to help our clients achieve quality assurance and meet code requirements. We hold a Fenestration Association Professional Certification, as well as electronic leak detection certification. The BEE team also conducts in-house research and development, investigating new window products, sealants, and installation methods.
Window Water Testing Services
Window Water testing is performed in accordance with AAMA/ASTM guidelines. We conduct testing for both newly installed windows as well as investigative window water leakage testing for existing ones. AAMA 502.2 Voluntary specification for field testing of newly installed fenestration products. ASTM E1105 Active Standard Test Method for field determination of water penetration of exterior windows, skylights, doors, and curtain walls by uniform or cyclic static air pressure difference. AAMA 501.2 Quality assurance and diagnostic water leakage field check of installed storefronts, curtain walls, and sloped glazing systems. ASTM E783 Active Standard Test Method of field measurement of air leakage through installed exterior window and doors.
Air Barrier Testing Services
BEE offers whole building air barrier testing services for residential and commercial projects. All service offerings comply with Washington and Oregon State Energy Code requirements. Services include pre-design consultation, plan and specification review, mock-ups and components testing, quality assurance field inspections, and post-construction air barrier testing and diagnostics. ASTM E-779-10 Active Standard Test Method for determining air leakage rate by fan pressurization. LEED We offer unit-by-unit testing to comply with LEED energy requirements. Thermal Imaging Our team can perform investigational air and water leakage diagnostics using smoke and infrared radiation (IR).
Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) Testing Services
BEE provides ELD testing services to help our clients comply with ASTM D8231 and ASTM D7877 requirements. We use IntegriScan electronic scanning equipment, the only system capable of testing semi-conductive membranes, including black EPDM. ASTM D8231 Low voltage electronic scanning system for detecting and locating breaches in roofing and waterproofing membranes. ASTM D7877 Electronic methods for detecting and locating leaks in waterproof membranes.
Supportive Building Testing
Along with window and air barrier testing, BEE provides a large variety of supportive testing services including items that may be required by a building commissioning agent. (BECx)
